Hey John and all, the suggestion I have that could be incorporated into the project is revamping the content pipeline so it follows closely to how blizzard manages their content files. They use MPQ archives which store all the content, I think that would make for a great feature to add to the list. I'll provide some links for your references...

edit: btw the way they use it is practically everything images/models/sounds are stored in one mpq archive... maps are also mpq archives in a way which contain map specific images/models/sounds and in our case a .3dw file. The xmls files are a bit of a drag but i'm sure they could be fit in somewhere that makes sense, if not inside the same mpq the .3dw is in.

The problem is I can't insert data into the .3dw file (well I could, with an external editor I could make) and I can't do much about how XNA spits out the XNB files on the other end. The XML files don't need to be deployed with a game, they go into what becomes the xnb file.
